Flaunting a cuddly little baby may be a vogue in Hollywood, but more than that it’s the tag of being a hot mom. A baby not only brings with it the ‘joys of motherhood’, but also a way to cash in on all the publicity. And the faster you shed your extra baby weight after pregnancy, the better it is, given the photo ops and interviews where you get to gloat about how you shed those terrible kilos by “just running after the baby!” While there are a very few who are upfront about finding it hard to lose the extra stones, there are some who hide it all and make the grand comeback.
Eight weeks after the birth of her fourth child, mommy
Victoria Beckham and baby girl Harper Seven stepped out in public, and the paparazzi had a field day. Standing stylishly at her best, in patent huge sunglasses, leather pants, tank top and Christian Louboutin heels, Posh – who reportedly had a goal of losing 30 pounds in 30 days, looked as if she was never pregnant! A magazine reported that eight week into the birth; she’s already achieved the enviable US size zero, which is a UK size four. For those who are trying hard to imagine her diet and exercise regime, it’s speculated that the former Spice Girl is on the new-famous-diet-of-the-season – “Five Hands Diet” which allows you to eat only five handfuls of food everyday. According to a source, who opened up to a Hollywood mag, “She has blueberries for breakfast, steamed sea bass with green vegetables for lunch and watercress soup for dinner. She’s also snacking on king prawns to rev up her metabolism.”
However, some new mommies have it too easy, when it comes to losing weight, or so they say! “I haven’t been working out. At all,” actress and
John Travolta’s wife,
Kelly Preston, tried to explain the secret of her fab body after she gave birth to their third child, Ben. She added, “Maybe that’s the secret. Don’t stress about it. I’ve been lucky because I’ve been breastfeeding so that’s really helped me lose the weight. That really is the secret.” Well, might be true, but it’s quite hard to believe a 48-year-old hottie who steps out on the red carpet a few months after delivering a baby.
Actress
Jessica Alba likes to keep it real, unlike many in H-wood who’d like the fans to think they are born with 6-pack abs. Two weeks post birth of her second daughter, Haven Garner, Alba was sweating it out in the gym. And she even asked fans for tips. “I did my first day of workout since I had the baby, just cardio for 40 minutes – it’s a start. Anyone else starting a fitness regimen?” the actress posted online. Alba’s secret – a mix of interval training, circuit training with light weights, and plyometrics – which she shared with her fans, seems to be working wonders for her body.
Samantha Harris believes that there’s nothing better than fitness boot camp to get back into shape, and she sees no shame in sharing her fitness secrets too. Post delivery in January, Harris was staring at a pair of tight denims, which motivated her to get thin. This “Dancing With The Stars” TV personality, who gave birth to her second child, daughter Hillary Madison, is quite the health freak who’s “diligent about wanting to fit into a tight, good pair of jeans again” and that’s why it’s boot camp for her. “I’m running after the kids and hitting the gym, whether it’s boot camp, cardio class or Bikram yoga,” she said in an interview. Seems like there’s no point hiding, according to this star.
